Bintop is an application specifically designed for the railway sector and particularly oriented towards track layouts, serving as an aid for design, acceleration, study of variants, tracing, correction, and periodic positional control. The peculiarity of the application consists in the possibility of designing the railway axis directly considering only the points from which the track should deviate as little as possible in the case of ordinary maintenance, or deviate, in the case of variants, according to values imposed by the designer. With Bintop, there is no need to identify a priori, as the classic approach foresees, the axis polygonal, the position of straights and curves with their radii, the length and position of transition curves. Bintop does not use any type of regression. For existing tracks, it is also not necessary to know the original design parameters since it will still be easy to identify, if it exists, the design solution that minimizes track displacements compared to the last recorded position.
