Line lasers project one or more light lines, horizontal, vertical or crossed, onto walls, ceilings and floors, some covering 360 degrees. They are used for marking out alignments and for laying tiles, suspended ceilings, windows and doors, and services without having to transfer levels by hand.
Types in the collection
- Cross-line lasers with a horizontal and a vertical line;
- 3D multi-line and 360-degree lasers;
- cordless laser marking tools;
- kits with tripod and case.
The brands included are DeWalt, Stanley, Metrica, Makita, SPIT, Leica and Fervi.
How to choose
What counts is the number of lines you need: a cross-line laser is enough for simple alignments, a 3D multi-line laser for complete rooms. A green beam is more visible in bright environments, while red is more common on entry-level models. Check the self-levelling, the battery and whether the laser can be mounted on a tripod or bracket.
Compared with a spirit level, a laser lets you work alone and check a whole wall or room in one go, and it is also useful for transferring reference points from one room to another.
