What it is

The acoustic leak detector listens to the noise of water or gas escaping from a pipe, to locate the leak without demolition.
What it is for
Used in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and for inspecting plant, pipework and structures.
How to use it
Switch the instrument on and place the sensor or probe along the route of the pipe, listening through the headphones and watching the signal level. The leak is where the noise is loudest. Work in as quiet an environment as possible.
