What it is

The shackle is a U-shaped steel element, closed by a threaded pin, that connects ropes, chains, anchors and lifting or safety accessories.

What it is for

Used as an anchor point in fall protection systems and for work at height, where access and restraint must be ensured for the whole job.

How to use it

Insert the pin and screw it in fully, then back it off a small amount so that it does not seize under load. Work with the load in line with the axis of the shackle, without twisting. Check the pin and thread before each use and discard a shackle that is deformed or has a bent pin.
