What it is for
Used for levelling surfaces and structures and for setting out, in masonry work, from laying blocks to filling chases and for marking out lines, dimensions and reference points before work begins.
How to use it
Hang the line from the high point and let the bob settle. Then mark the vertical. In windy conditions, steady the bob in a container of water. The magnetic type attaches to a metal surface.
