How to choose
- Check the bar length and the chain type before ordering: they must match those specified by the machine manufacturer.
- Always use the bar cover when storing or transporting the chainsaw, to protect the chain and the person handling it.
- For brands such as Husqvarna, Makita and Efco, state the machine model, because accessories are not always interchangeable.

Frequently asked questions: Chainsaw and Pole Pruner Accessories
How do I choose the guide bar for a chainsaw?
The bar should be chosen by length, which must match the one specified by the chainsaw manufacturer. The collection includes bars for the Alpina A40 chainsaw and pole pruner bars with sprocket noses. Also check the chain pitch, such as the 0.325 inch LP given for the bars of DeWalt chainsaws. A bar of a different size may not fit or may work badly.
Which chain should I choose for the chainsaw?
The chain should be chosen according to the pitch, the tooth thickness and the number of links, which must match the bar. The collection includes TOP forest chainsaw chains, Breaker wood chains and replacement chains for DeWalt electric chainsaws with a 30 or 40 cm bar. Use the chain specified by the manufacturer and always check the tension before work.
Which sharpeners should I use for chainsaw chains?
To sharpen the chain, use manual chain sharpeners, such as the CS, or electric ones, such as the SHARP-100 or the ALG145. The bench chain breaker is used instead to split the chain for repairs. Sharpen regularly, keeping the angle shown on the chain, and do not leave a worn chain in use for long, because it cuts worse and strains the machine.
Which air filters and spark plugs are needed as replacement parts for pruners?
The air filter cleans the air entering the engine: it must be checked and replaced when dirty, because a clogged filter reduces power. Spark plugs, such as the NGK or Torch ones, must be replaced according to the working hours indicated by the manufacturer. Always use the spare parts specified in the machine's manual, because different engines have different requirements.
How are bar covers and clamps for the chainsaw bar used?
The bar cover protects the bar and chain when the machine is not running or during transport, and should be chosen for the bar size, 40 or 50 cm. The bar-fixing clamp is used to hold the bar in place during maintenance. Always remove the chain with the engine switched off and wearing gloves, and fit the bar cover only when the chain has stopped.
Which line and accessories are needed for brush cutters and pole pruners?
Brush cutter line and tying line are used for cutting grass and shrubs or for tying plants. For pruners, the collection includes bars and sprockets, such as the Breaker bars with roller or with stellite, to be chosen according to the machine model. The line should be selected by diameter and type of grass to be cut, checking the diameter indicated on the machine.
Which file handles are needed to sharpen the chain by hand?
Universal round-file handles fit onto the files to give a secure, comfortable grip during manual chain sharpening. The bench chain breaker and the clamp help hold the chain in place during the work. Choose the round file according to the chain pitch and use a handle suited to the diameter of the file, to work with control.
