How to choose
Choose according to the volume of work: for a few cuts hand tools are enough, for larger supplies and sites a cordless trimmer is worthwhile. Check the thickness of the sheets and the type of anchor you want to fit.
AMES works by quotation: not all items are available for immediate delivery. If you have doubts about your choice, tell us the material, the substrate and the quantity: we will reply with the alternatives available. For a tailored supply write or call us and we will help you prepare the quotation.

Frequently asked questions: Other Drywall Tools
How do I trim a plasterboard sheet with the trimmer?
The trimmer cuts the edges of the sheet with a disc or a blade that follows the line. Run it along the edge keeping the sheet still and the trimmer straight, without forcing. For corners, the Pavan angle trimmer from 22° to 45° allows angled cuts. With the electric trimmer wear glasses and a dust mask, because gypsum dust spreads into the air.
What angles does the Pavan angle trimmer cover?
The Pavan 3609 angle trimmer works at angles from 22 to 45 degrees, useful for finishing angled edges and wall-to-ceiling junctions. Before cutting, check that the set angle matches the joint to be finished. For the Pavan 3608 trimmer with diamond disc, the spare disc has the code 3608/R.
What is the difference between a plasterboard plane and a rasp plane?
The plasterboard plane has a blade that finishes the edge of the sheet by removing small layers of material. The metal rasp plane, as in the Pavan 3605 model, uses a rasp to shape the edge. In the catalogue you will find planes 607, 608 and 609, and the corner plane for edges. Choose according to the finish you need to achieve.
How do I use a Pavan board lifter to fit boards high up?
The Pavan 3620/S board lifter reaches a maximum height of 4.5 metres, useful for lifting and holding plasterboard sheets in position on high walls and ceilings. This leaves your hands free to fix the sheet. Before using it, check the weight of the sheet and the stability of the surface it stands on.
How do I choose between profile pliers and Molly anchor pliers?
Profile pliers, such as the double-lever models or the 0555 pliers, are used to work the metal joints of the plasterboard framework. The Molly 3610 professional anchor pliers are instead used to fit expansion anchors into cavities. Choose according to the operation: for profiles you need a secure grip, for anchors the pliers specified for the model.
When should I use the plasterboard saw with a piercing tip?
The Pavan 3607 plasterboard saw, with piercing tip and sheath, is used to cut openings and make holes in the boards without a power tool. The tip is used to start the hole. For long, straight cuts the board knife is better. Put the saw back in its sheath when you are not using it.
How do I change the blade of the Pavan board cutting knife?
The Pavan 3606 board cutting knife comes with four spare blades in the case. When the blade gets blunt, replace it with the knife closed. For spares use code 3606/R, and for the Pavan 3616 insulation knife use the blade indicated for that model. Keep the spare blades in the case.
