Spike Anchors

22 products

Spike impact anchors are fitted into a pre-drilled hole and fixed with a few hammer blows, with no need for screws or spanners. They are used for quick fixing of profiles, brackets and service supports to concrete. The collection includes items by DeWalt, SPIT and others.

Types in the collection

  • Spike impact anchors in various sizes.
  • Versions with mushroom head or eyelet.
  • Drive-in anchors, for example SPIT UDZ.

How to choose

Check the diameter and length suited to the thickness of the material to be fixed and to the depth of the hole. They are designed for light and medium loads: for heavier loads consider a different anchor. Always read the technical data sheet.

AMES works on a quotation basis: not all items are available for immediate delivery. If you are unsure about your choice, tell us the material, the substrate and the quantity: we will reply with the alternatives available. For a tailored supply, write to us or call us and we will help you prepare the quote.

Anchor FNA II

Frequently asked questions: Spike Anchors
How do you use a Spike hammer-in anchor without screws?

The hammer-in anchor is inserted into a hole already drilled in the concrete and fixed with a few hammer blows. No screws or spanners are needed. Before striking, check that the hole diameter matches that of the anchor, clean the dust out of the hole and check that the anchor goes in all the way. Wear eye protection while hammering.

What is the difference between Spike anchors with a mushroom head and FNA II nail anchors?

DeWalt Spike anchors with a mushroom head have a wide head that bears on the part being fixed. Fischer FNA II anchors are nail-type and are distinguished by head type: hook (H), closed eye (OE), flat head or nail head. Choose the head type according to the part to be fixed, not just the length.

What sizes of Spike anchors are available?

DeWalt anchors come in diameters of 5 and 6.5 mm and lengths from 32 to 75 mm, in stainless steel or galvanised steel. Several mushroom-head versions are sold in packs of 100. Choose diameter and length according to the thickness of the material being fixed and the usable depth of the hole in the concrete.

When is a stainless steel anchor better than a galvanised one?

The difference lies in corrosion resistance. Stainless steel is suited to damp or outdoor environments, while galvanised is suited to dry interiors. The collection also includes the FNA II C in special corrosion-resistant steel. Always check the installation environment before choosing the finish, because humidity changes the choice.

Which anchor should I use to fix profiles, brackets and supports for services on concrete?

For profiles, brackets and supports, use nail-type anchors with the head best suited to the part: the H hook head or the OE eye are the most common for hanging elements. The mushroom head is used when the part must sit against a flat surface. Check the expected load and the anchoring depth, because holding strength depends on the base material and on the installation.

What precautions are needed when hammering in hammer-in anchors?

When the nail is hammered in, splinters and fragments of concrete can come away, so safety glasses and gloves are needed. Keep your hands away from the head of the nail and use a hammer of suitable weight. Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 on workplace safety requires you to choose personal protective equipment (PPE) consistent with the risks of the work. Do not reuse an anchor that has already been driven.

How do you find the right Spike anchors for a specific job?

Start from the base material, the thickness of the part to be fixed and the type of finish required. The collection includes DeWalt Spike anchors, Fischer FNA II anchors and SPIT UDZ 6 hammer-in plugs. The codes are not interchangeable, so compare the data sheet of each item before choosing, even between products that look similar.
