Equipment for Industrial Maintenance Technicians
14518 products
The industrial maintenance technician keeps plant and machinery running: repairing, replacing parts, adjusting and checking compressed air lines. The collection brings together tools, machines and protective equipment for the workshop and the plant, with brands such as Abac, Fini Compressori, Fervi, Portwest, U-Power, Neri and Base Protection.
What you will find in this collection
- Piston compressors, screw compressors and industrial screw compressors
- Compressed air dryers and FRL units for air treatment
- Turning, milling and threading tools
- Professional drill bits for metal and plastic
- Hand tightening tools and socket wrenches
- Mechanical repair tools, angle grinders
- Safety shoes, gloves and multi-standard clothing
How to choose
- Compressor: choose the air flow rate according to the connected equipment, and a piston or screw type according to how often it is used.
- Compressed air: dryers and FRL units protect tools and systems from moisture and impurities.
- Tightening: keep sets of spanners to hand in the sizes you use most.
- Protection: footwear and gloves should be chosen according to the risk in the department.

Frequently asked questions: Equipment for Industrial Maintenance Technicians
Which air compressor should I choose for an industrial workshop?
The choice between a piston and a screw compressor depends on the duty cycle and the air consumption of the tools. The piston type suits intermittent use and short jobs, while the screw compressor is designed for more continuous operation in the plant. Compare the flow rate in litres per minute and the maximum pressure with those required by the tools you will use. Also consider the noise level and the space available in the workshop.
Do I need a compressed air dryer?
The dryer reduces the moisture in compressed air, which can condense in the pipework and damage tools and paintwork. It is useful when the air feeds precision instruments, spray painting systems or machinery sensitive to water. It must be sized according to the compressor's flow rate and the air quality required. In the system it is also advisable to include a condensate drain.
What is an FRL unit for on the air line?
The FRL unit combines a filter, a pressure regulator and a lubricator, and is installed before the pneumatic tools. The filter retains impurities and condensate, the regulator keeps the pressure constant and the lubricator doses the oil to protect the internal parts. The lubricator is not always needed, because some tools require clean air without oil. Always check the tool manufacturer's instructions.
Which drill bits should I choose for drilling metal and plastic in the workshop?
Metal drill bits are chosen according to the material to be drilled, its hardness and the hole diameter. For steel, a quality bit with a moderate rotation speed and a lubricant during the work is best. For plastic you need bits with dedicated geometries, because those designed for metal can overheat the material. The diameter should be chosen according to the wall plug or screw you will insert in the hole.
How do I use a hand-operated winch?
The hand-operated winch lifts or drags loads by means of a rope wound on a drum. Respect the capacity shown on the plate, which in this collection ranges from 540 to 900 kg depending on the model. Do not work under a suspended load and check that the anchor point is solid. Check the rope before each use and avoid letting it work when kinked or worn.
What protection does a maintenance technician need in a plant?
Industrial maintenance requires safety glasses, gloves and footwear suited to the risks present, as well as hearing protection when working near compressors and noisy machinery. The choice depends on the risk assessment of the area where the work takes place. Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 on workplace safety governs PPE (personal protective equipment): the employer must provide suitable equipment and the worker must use it.
Which stainless steel fasteners should I choose for damp environments?
Fully threaded hexagon head screws in A2 stainless steel are used where corrosion resistance is needed, for example in damp environments or in contact with water. The A2 code indicates a class of stainless steel, while DIN 933 refers to the shape of the screw. Check the length according to the thickness to be joined and use nuts of the same material. Avoid combining different steels, so as not to encourage galvanic corrosion.
