Combination Spanners

Combination spanners have an open end on one side and a polygonal ring on the other, of the same size. The ring wraps around the nut and lets you apply the final force, while the open end is used where the spanner has to go on from the side.

How to choose

Choose the size according to the nuts and bolts to be worked on; for continuous use a complete set is worthwhile. Ratchet sets save time on long bolts, while traditional spanners are sturdier and better suited to high torques.
