Stackable Sheet Steel Containers

54 products · Tanks, Cisterns and Drums for Liquid Storage

Stackable sheet steel containers are metal boxes designed to be stacked on top of one another: they make use of the warehouse height, keep parts, components and materials in order and can be moved with a forklift. They are used in warehouses, workshops and production areas.

Types in the collection

  • Solid-sided sheet steel containers, with a base designed for forks (Comi Storage, Butti)
  • Containers with a mesh door or no door, with capacities of 1000 and 1500 kg (Comi Storage)
  • Sheet steel crates with handles for components and small parts
  • Made-to-measure containers, for example for windscreens (Butti)
  • Steel bar pallets for long material (Sall)

How to choose

Check the internal dimensions, the load capacity and the number of levels that can be stacked, shown in the datasheet of each model. Solid sides protect the contents, while mesh makes them visible and ventilated; a front door makes it easier to take items out without having to empty the whole container. If the load is very heavy or long, consider the model with a reinforced base or the bar pallet.

Frequently asked questions: Stackable Sheet Steel Containers
What are stackable sheet metal containers and when are they used?

Stackable sheet metal containers are metal boxes designed to be stacked on top of each other, so they use the height of the warehouse and keep parts, components and small items organised. They are moved with a forklift thanks to the base designed for the forks. They suit warehouses, workshops and production. Always check the capacity of the single container and the stacking capacity on the data sheet.

Containers with a mesh door or without a door: which to choose?

The mesh door lets you see the contents and promotes ventilation, which is useful for parts that must not stay closed or for material that can collect moisture. The model without a door leaves the front open and more accessible, but requires more care so that material does not fall out. The Comi Storage catalogue includes both versions, with capacities of 800 or 1500 kg. Choose based on the type of material.

800, 1000 and 1500 kg capacities for stackable containers: how do you choose?

Comi Storage containers have capacities from 800 to 2000 kg, while the pallets reach 1000 and 1500 kg. Choose the capacity based on the heaviest load the container will hold, adding the weight of the container itself. Note that the stacking capacity is often different from that of the single container, so read it on the data sheet before stacking two units.

Galvanised steel pallets and gas cylinder cages: when should you use them?

The Sall pallets and gas cylinder cages in hot-dip galvanised steel are used to group and move gas cylinders in a warehouse or on site. Hot-dip galvanising protects the steel from rust, which is useful for outdoor use or damp environments. Place the cylinders upright, secured in the cage, and do not stack them beyond the stated limit. Check the maximum number of cylinders per cage.

Comi Storage cup pallets: what are they for?

The Comi Storage pallets of 1500 kg and those with a cup of 1000 kg support stackable containers and let them be moved with a forklift. The cup centres the container on the pallet. Check that the container sits well and that the capacity of the pallet exceeds the total weight. Do not use damaged pallets.

Solid-sided or wire-mesh containers: which to choose for the material?

Solid sheet metal sides protect material from dust and impacts and are suitable for small pieces, delicate components or small parts. Wire mesh lets air and light through and shows the contents, which is useful where ventilation or visual checks are needed. The Sall catalogue includes containers in both mesh and sheet metal. Choose according to the material to be kept and the conditions of the warehouse.

How do you stack sheet metal containers safely?

Stack only on a flat, stable base, without exceeding the stacking capacity stated on the data sheet. Load the container centred and evenly, with the heavier weight at the bottom. Do not place units on damaged or deformed containers. When moving a stacked container, use a forklift with the forks correctly inserted in the base and observe the warehouse speed limits.
