Window and door hardware includes the parts that make doors, windows and shutters move, close and stay in position. It is used both by the joiner fitting a new frame and by anyone who needs to replace a broken component in a renovation.

How to choose

The first factor is the weight and size of the leaf, which determine the load rating and the number of hinges or door closers. Then come the material of the frame (wood, aluminium, PVC), the side of opening and the environment: galvanised iron for indoors, stainless steel or brass where there is damp or where the part remains visible.
