Rotary Burrs

196 products · Drill Bits, Cutters and Inserts

Rotary burrs are tools fitted to drills, die grinders and routers to remove material: they are used to deburr, shape, file and finish metals and other materials. The collection includes carbide burrs, T.C.T. burrs, rotary files and kits for special applications, from the brands Fervi, Makita, Breaker, Fischer, Milwaukee, Vigor and A.M.E.S.

What you will find in the collection

  • Carbide rotary burrs: with single or double cut, for aluminium, iron and steel.
  • T.C.T. burrs: with different cutting geometries, for ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Rotary files: assorted sets for shaping and finishing.
  • Sets and kits: burr assortments and kits for light scarifying and bush-hammering.
  • Diamond burrs: for the hardest materials.

How to choose

The material to be worked matters most: aluminium and soft metals call for more open teeth, steel and iron a finer cut. Choose the shape and size according to the job and check the shank diameter, which must be compatible with the machine's chuck.

Frequently asked questions: Rotary Burrs
What are rotary burrs used for?

Rotary burrs are fitted to drills, straight grinders and trimmers, and are used to deburr, shape, file and finish metal and other materials. They work where a file or a saw cannot reach, such as inside a tube, along the edge of a weld or in a hole to be enlarged. They are typical tools for the workshop and for maintenance.

What is the difference between a solid carbide burr and a T.C.T. burr?

Solid carbide burrs have a carbide cutting part and are used on steel, iron and other hard materials, with single or double cut. T.C.T. burrs have different cutting geometries and are chosen according to the material, ferrous or non-ferrous. The main criterion remains the material you are working on and the type of job.

Which burr should I choose for aluminium?

For aluminium, choose a burr designed for non-ferrous metals, with a cut suited to a soft material that tends to clog. In the range you will find, for example, the Fervi M10AL6 aluminium burrs. Always check the marking on the shank or the packaging, because a burr for iron used on aluminium clogs and leaves a poor finish.

Which diameter and shank should I check before buying a burr?

Before choosing a burr, check the shank diameter, which must fit the collet of your tool, and the cutting length. Product titles show sizes such as 10x20x6 mm, which generally indicate diameter, cutting length and shank diameter. Also check the maximum speed of your tool and never exceed it.

How do I use a rotary burr safely?

Fit the burr well centred in the collet and tighten it fully, then run it empty before working. Wear safety glasses and, when working metal, a dust mask. Do not apply excessive pressure: let the tool do the work, otherwise the burr overheats, may break and be thrown out.

Which burr sets and series are in the range?

The range includes assorted 6-piece sets, solid carbide series such as the Fervi F008SC and F008DC, and diamond series such as the D050 and D020. Diamond series are designed for hard and abrasive materials such as stone and ceramic. Choose the set according to the materials you work with most often, so you do not buy tools you will not use.

Who uses rotary burrs and for which jobs?

Rotary burrs are used by metal fabricators, blacksmiths, maintenance technicians and metalworkers, and also by those who install plant and repair equipment. They serve to deburr cuts on sheet and profiles, enlarge holes, shape welds and finish parts after cutting. They are useful in the workshop and on site, where work is often done on parts already fitted.
