Band Saw Blades for Metal

93 products · Saw Blades

Band saw blades for metal are continuous toothed bands that fit on band saws to cut pipes, profiles, bars and sheet metal. They are used in the workshop, in metalwork and in industrial maintenance, on both stationary machines and portable band saws.

Types available in the collection

  • Bi-metal blades: high-speed steel teeth welded to a flexible back, for commonly used steels.
  • Blades for portable band saws: for cordless models, in various lengths.
  • HCS blades: in carbon steel, for general cutting.

Blades from the brands Fervi, Lenox, DeWalt, Makita and Milwaukee are available.

How to choose

First check the length and width of the band specified by the saw manufacturer, then the tooth pitch (teeth per inch): finer for thin walls and tubes, coarser for solid sections. What counts is how many teeth remain engaged in the workpiece.

AMES Srl works on a quotation basis: tell us the models, sizes and quantities you need and we will reply with availability, delivery times and terms of supply, without obligation.

Frequently asked questions: Band Saw Blades for Metal
What are metal band saw blades used for?

Metal band saw blades are continuous toothed bands fitted to band saws, fixed or portable. They are used to cut tubes, sections, bars and sheet in the workshop, in metal fabrication and in industrial maintenance. Compared with a reciprocating saw, they give a continuous and more even cut on metal workpieces.

Which blade should I choose: bimetal or HCS?

Bimetal blades have a high-speed steel tooth edge welded to a flexible back and are suited to common steels. HCS blades, in carbon steel, are designed for general cutting and occasional jobs. For frequent work on steel or stainless steel, bimetal is the most suitable choice, while for occasional use HCS can be considered.

How do I choose the tooth pitch (TPI)?

The pitch indicates how many teeth there are per inch and changes the speed and cleanliness of the cut. For thin sections and tubes a finer pitch is needed, so more teeth stay engaged in the material. For thick, solid materials a coarser pitch is better, as it prevents the teeth from clogging. The TPI value is stated on the blade.

Which length do I need for my band saw?

The blade length must correspond exactly to that specified for your band saw, otherwise it will not fit or hold tension. The range includes blades of 835 mm, 898.52 mm and 1140 mm, as well as blades for portable band saws in other lengths. Check the machine manual before buying.

How do I use a band saw blade safely?

Fit the blade with the teeth pointing in the cutting direction marked on the machine and tension it according to the instructions. Use cutting lubricant on steel, if specified, and protect your hands and eyes. Do not cut with a slack or worn blade: it could break and be thrown out.

Which brands and series of band saw blades are in the range?

The range includes Lenox blades, such as the Tri-Tech CT, Max CT, Contestor XL and Armor RX+, as well as Fervi LB02/1140 bimetal blades and Makita and Milwaukee blades. There are also DeWalt blades for portable saws, such as the DT8478-QZ. Choose the series according to the material and the machine, reading the manufacturer's data sheet.

Who uses metal band saw blades?

They are used by metal fabricators, welders, maintenance technicians and mechanical workshops that cut sections, tubes and bars regularly. They are used both on bench-mounted machines and on portable saws on site. For repeated cuts on metal they are more practical than a reciprocating saw.
