Special-Purpose Hammers
42 products
This collection gathers hammers designed for precise work, different from the ordinary carpenter's hammer: bricklayer's hammers, stonemason's hammers, dead-blow hammers, ball-peen hammers and models with a rubber grip.
The types included
- Bricklayer's hammers, with chisel-end and pointed-end heads, for working brick and stone
- Lump hammers (malepeggio), the stonemason's hammer with resin handle
- Dead-blow hammers, filled to eliminate rebound and strike without marking
- Ball-peen hammers, for metalworking
- Rubber-faced hammers with alignment lever
Brands included are Pavan, Stanley, Mass and Probst.
How to choose
Start from the material to be worked and the effect you want to achieve: chisel or pointed end for masonry, dead-blow head where the surface must not be marked, ball-peen head for peening and shaping metal. Also consider the weight of the head and the handle material.
