  • Products against flies, wasps and other flying insects.

How to choose

Start from the pest to be controlled, the environment to be treated (indoors, outdoors, food premises) and the most suitable formulation: powder, liquid or gel bait. Biocides must be used with care, always reading the label and the safety data sheet. For areas frequented by people or pets, choose suitable formulations and methods of application, and keep the products in their original packaging.

Frequently asked questions: Protemax
What are Protemax pest control products used for?

Protemax brings together products for controlling ants, crawling and flying insects, flies, rodents and wasps, as well as weedkillers such as concentrated vinegar for weeds on pavements and yards. Glue traps catch insects without the need to apply liquids, while baits and insecticides act on the target. The choice starts from the pest to be fought and the environment to be treated, indoor or outdoor.

Which bait should I choose for ants and cockroaches?

For ants, gel baits are used, to be placed along the paths the ants follow. For cockroaches there are gel baits in syringes and glue traps, to be placed where they pass, such as behind furniture or under sinks. Syringe baits come in 7 g and 25 g sizes: the choice depends on the extent of the infestation. Always read the label before using the product.

Which rodenticide should I choose: paste or grain?

Protemax offers rodenticides in paste, in grain and in different sizes, from 150-gram sachets up to 510-gram packs. Paste and grain are chosen according to the point to be treated and the storage format. Packs with ready-made doses are practical to place in the places rodents pass through. Use only the quantities and points indicated on the label and keep the product out of reach of children and animals.

How are mouse and rat traps used?

Mouse and rat traps, including glue traps, should be placed along walls and where signs of passage are noticed. Glue traps do not need bait and hold the animal, but must be checked often and disposed of carefully. Use gloves when replacing them and do not touch the captured rodent with bare hands. Place traps away from food intended for people.

How do I control wasps and their nests with sprays?

Wasp and nest sprays are used when the nest is accessible and away from busy areas. Foam spray is aimed into the nest to cover the insects, while normal spray is for more limited interventions. Working in the evening, when wasps are less active, reduces the risk of stings. Wear covering clothing and read the label. For large nests or in hard-to-reach places it is best to call a professional.

Which Protemax insecticides are used for flies and flying insects?

Protemax offers powder and liquid insecticides for crawling insects, products against flies and other flying insects, and a multi-insect insecticide. For flies there are sticky spirals, to be hung in rooms where they gather. In food premises choose only products specified for that use and respect hygiene rules. Apply each product only as indicated on the label.

Which weedkiller should I choose for pavements and yards?

Protemax weedkillers, such as concentrated vinegar, are used to eliminate weeds on uncultivated surfaces such as pavements, paths and yards. The treatment is applied in cracks and on the weeds to be removed, avoiding the product reaching flower beds and plants. Protect your eyes and skin during application and follow the doses indicated on the label.

What precautions are needed with baits, traps and insecticides?

Products against rodents and insects are biocides, regulated by Regulation (EU) 528/2012. Before using them, read the label, respect the doses and warnings, and keep the products closed and away from children, pets and food. Use gloves and, where indicated, respiratory protection. Dispose of used baits and traps according to the waste rules and the label's instructions.
