Diesel Space Heaters
158 products · Professional Space Heaters
Diesel heaters are self-contained heat generators that do not depend on the gas mains, used to heat large spaces that are hard to warm: building sites, warehouses, industrial sheds and temporary structures. They run on diesel and need electricity only for the fan and the burner.
Types in the collection
- Infrared heaters running on diesel, for heating people and surfaces, even outdoors
- Hot air generators with direct and indirect combustion
- Accessories: flexible hoses, dust covers, maintenance kits
Brands include Dantherm Group (Master) and A.M.E.S. srl.
How to choose
The choice depends on the volume of the space, its insulation and the heating output required. The infrared heater warms people and surfaces directly and also works well in open areas. The indirect-combustion generator vents the fumes outside and can be used in enclosed spaces, whereas the direct-combustion one requires good ventilation. Always check the manufacturer's instructions.
AMES Srl works on a quotation basis: tell us about the space and the output required and we will recommend the right model.

Frequently asked questions: Diesel Space Heaters
When is a diesel heater better than a gas one?
A diesel heater is independent of the gas network and is used to heat large spaces such as sites, warehouses and sheds where the gas network does not reach or is not planned. It runs on diesel and requires electricity only for the fan and burner. It suits temporary structures: for example the Heylo K 120 or the BV77E must be fed from a diesel tank, as stated in the model's instructions.
Direct or indirect diesel heater: what is the difference?
In a direct-combustion heater the room air feeds the flame and the fumes generally stay in the room, so good air exchange is needed. In an indirect heater the heat passes through a heat exchanger and the fumes exit through a flue to the outside. The catalogue includes both types, such as the indirect Master BV 110 or BV 170. Choose based on the room and the ventilation available.
What accessories are needed to vent the fumes of an indirect heater outside?
For the flue you need the 1 m stainless steel pipe Ø 150 mm, the 90° elbow and the chimney cowl, provided for the BV 110, BV 170, BV 290, BV 400 and for the Heylo K 50 and K 80. For the Heylo K 120, K 160 and K 160 R the catalogue offers two- or three-way outlets and PVC pipes of Ø 420 or Ø 550 mm. Diameters and connections are not interchangeable.
What does the diesel suction pipe on a diesel heater do?
The suction pipe draws diesel from an external tank and feeds it to the heater's burner. The catalogue lists it for the Heylo K 50, K 80, K 120, K 160 and K 160 R, in the 1 x 5 m version. Before connecting it, check the distance between tank and heater and that the pipe is intact and sealed. A diesel leak is a fire risk and must be fixed immediately.
Diesel infrared heater: what is it for?
An infrared heater warms people and surfaces directly, without having to heat all the air in the room. It is useful in open or poorly enclosed work areas, where people stay in place for long periods, such as an outdoor work point or a loading area. The catalogue includes the XL 91 and XL 61 models, also in the Sovelor version. Check the safe distance from combustible materials stated by the manufacturer.
How do you move a large diesel heater, for example the Heylo K 160?
For the Heylo K 120, K 160 and K 160 R the catalogue provides forklift slots, fixing brackets and a wheel kit with a locking function. The slot allows lifting with a forklift, the wheel kit makes the heater movable by hand and the lock keeps it still during operation. Before moving it, switch it off and let the burner cool, then check the weight stated on the data sheet.
Why are dust covers and the maintenance kit needed?
The dust cover protects the heater from dust and dirt when not in use, which matters on sites and in warehouses where dust settles on the burner and fan. The maintenance kit gathers the spare parts for the periodic operations set by the manufacturer. Clean and check the heater at the start of the season and follow the schedule in the manual.
