Solvents

Solvents are liquids that dissolve grease, glues, paints and other residues, and are used to clean, degrease and prepare surfaces in the workshop, on site and in maintenance. This collection brings together general-purpose solvents and products specific to individual jobs.

Product types in the collection

• Alcohols and acetone: isopropyl alcohol, denatured ethyl alcohol and pure acetone.
• Degreasing solvents: for washing mechanical parts and engines, including slow-evaporating types (Faren).
• Glue removers and label removers: for removing adhesive residues (Chemical Roadmaster, NPT Sigill).

How to choose

Choose the solvent according to the residue to be dissolved and the material to be cleaned, and check that it will not damage the surface. Many solvents are flammable: always read the safety data sheet, work in ventilated areas and use suitable gloves and protection.
