Frequently asked questions: Outdoor Mats and Runners
Which artificial grass should I choose for a terrace or a garden?
Artificial grass is chosen according to the pile height and the intended use. The collection includes 8 mm grass in rolls, 15, 20 and 25 mm grass, and grass up to 50 mm, such as the Hermes Bonfante model. A shorter pile gives a flatter surface, similar to a carpet, while a taller pile gives a softer lawn effect.
How do I join two lengths of artificial grass?
To join two lengths of grass, jointing tapes are used. The collection includes MONO tape, BI tape and the standard Verdelook jointing tape. The tape should be chosen according to the type of joint and laid under the edges of the lengths, following the manufacturer's instructions. Well-made joints make the surface more uniform.
What is the difference between the Summer rug and the India rug?
The Summer and India rugs are for outdoor use, with different designs and colours: stripes, leaf patterns, and plain grey, red or beige. Choose the colour according to the furnishings of the terrace and the light in the spot. Dark colours absorb more heat in the sun, so consider this for very exposed areas.
What sizes of rugs and runners are available?
The product titles include sizes such as 120 x 180 cm for the Summer rugs and the artificial grass roll of 1 x 25 metres. Runners are chosen according to the length of the corridor or outdoor seating area. Measure the space before choosing and allow a margin for fixing at the edges.
How do I clean an outdoor rug or artificial grass?
Outdoor rugs and artificial grass are cleaned with water and a neutral detergent, avoiding harsh solvents. Brush regularly to remove leaves and dust, and let the surface dry completely before putting furniture back on it. Moisture that is not allowed to dry encourages mould.
Who uses these rugs and grass and in which spaces?
They are chosen by private customers for terraces and verandas, but also by bars, restaurants and hospitality venues for outdoor seating areas and entrances. They are products designed for surfaces exposed to the weather. For commercial use, the choice of pile and density depends on the expected foot traffic.
How do I lay artificial grass so that it lasts longer?
The grass should be laid on a flat, clean base, with a slight slope so that water drains away. Cut the lengths with a margin and fix the edges carefully, using jointing tapes where several lengths are needed. An uneven base produces dips and creases over time.
