Woodworking Tools
128 products · Grinders and Rotary Tools
Woodworking tools are used to cut, drill, rout, plane and finish wood, from the small joiner's workshop to fitting work on site. In this collection you will find router bits, hand tools and accessories for woodworking machines.
What you will find in the collection
- Router bits for wood, single and in sets: stepped, cove profile, and tongue bits for joints.
- Hand drills and ratchet braces, for drilling without electricity.
- Beech biscuits, for joints in panels.
- Hand saws and planes, for cutting and finishing.
- Sharpening stones and other accessories for maintaining tools.
- Steel brushes for distressing wood and combination woodworking machines.
How to choose
Start from the operation: a router bit should be chosen according to the shape of the profile and the diameter, and it must have the right shank for your router. For occasional jobs a set of router bits is better value than a single bit. Hand tools remain the best choice where control and quiet are needed, power tools where speed counts. The brands included are Makita, Fervi, Vigor, Milwaukee, Breaker and Stanley.

Frequently asked questions: Woodworking Tools
Which wood router bits do I need for a vertical router?
Wood router bits are chosen according to the job: stepped bits for grooves and rebates, concave-profile bits for mouldings, tongue bits for joints. The set of six bits with a 6 mm shank is suited to a vertical router that takes that shank diameter. Check the shank before buying, because a different shank will not fit the collet. Fit the bit with the minimum projection needed for the job.
What is the difference between single router bits and router bit sets?
A single router bit is for one specific profile, and is worthwhile when you use it often. A set of bits, such as the 12-piece set, offers several profiles in one pack and helps those who work many types of joint or moulding. Sets may contain bits with shanks of different diameters, so check the size. Keep them in a case to protect the cutting edge.
How do I use chisels and carving knives on wood?
Carpenter's chisels are used by hand or with a mallet, working with the cutting edge along the grain. The set of five carving knives is used to rough out and finish shapes with small, controlled movements. Keep your hands behind the cutting edge and work with the piece clamped on a bench. Sharpen the tools with a stone when the cut becomes uncertain.
Which conical countersinks should I choose for wood?
90-degree conical countersinks prepare the seat for the screw head so that it sits flush with the surface. Manual ones let you work without electricity, while those for drills work faster. Choose the diameter according to the screw you will use. Always drill a pilot hole before countersinking, and use a low speed so as not to splinter the wood.
How do I use breast drills and braces to drill without power?
The breast drill and the ratchet brace drill by hand, without electricity, and are useful in the workshop. The breast drill has a handle to rest against the chest and a crank for rotation. Bits are chosen according to the wood and should be kept sharp. For a few small holes, working by hand is practical, while for many holes a power tool is better. Keep the piece still in a vice.
How does a fretsaw work for cutting wood?
The fretsaw has a frame with a thin blade stretched between two ends, and is used to cut curves and shapes. Blades are chosen according to the thickness of the wood and the type of cut: thin ones follow tight curves, wider ones cut straight lines faster. In the collection you will find fretsaws of different models, such as item 930 and item 705 P. Drill a starting hole to insert the blade and keep the piece still.
What safety measures are needed when working wood with router bits and chisels?
Wood produces dust and splinters, so wear goggles and a suitable dust mask, especially with high-speed router bits. With hand tools the main risk is cutting your hand, so it is best to clamp the piece and keep your hands away from the cutting edge. For machines, such as the vertical router, follow the manual and Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 on workplace safety. Keep the work area clean and switch off the machine before changing the bit.
