What it is
Arbor A10. Key specifications: diameter (mm) 8,75, material HSS.
The arbor, also called the mandrel, is the rod with a drill fitting that holds the hole saw. At the centre it carries the pilot bit that guides the hole and has a system, screw-type or quick-change, for locking the saw.
What it is for
Used for drilling wood and panels, for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and for running services through walls, floors and suspended ceilings.
How to use it
Choose the arbor suited to the diameter of the saw and its fitting, fix the saw, check that the pilot bit protrudes as needed and tighten the arbor in the drill chuck. Check that the pilot bit is not worn and replace it when it no longer centres properly. Keep it clean and lightly lubricated.
