What it is
The Co.Me half-round jointing trowel, code 138/T, is a tempered carbon steel tool with a wooden handle, made in the 10 mm size only. The half-round tip leaves a concave, even profile in the joint; in the same series the flat jointing trowel 138/P, available from 3 to 25 mm, gives a flat joint instead. It is sold in boxes of 12 pieces, with 20 boxes per master carton.
The jointing iron and the pointing tool are irons with a shaped tip or head (round, flat, ball-shaped) that are run along the joint of still-fresh mortar or grout to compress it, smooth it and give it a regular profile.
What it is for
Used in masonry work, from laying blocks to filling chases, for laying tiles and slabs, from spreading the adhesive to grouting and for sealing joints, gaps and service penetrations.
How to use it
Choose the iron with a width and shape suited to the joint. Run it along the joint when the grout has begun to set, with constant pressure and without stopping, then remove the excess material with a sponge or brush. After use, wash and dry it to prevent build-up.
