What it is
The DeWalt DE6917-XJ fixed guide bush has a diameter of 17 mm and is compatible with DW621 and DW626 routers for guided routing work. The guide bush leads the cutter along templates and patterns, making it possible to reproduce profiles and grooves with precision and repeatability. The fixed configuration ensures a stable reference for accurate work that stays consistent over time.
The guide bush is a metal ring, fixed or removable, fitted to the router base around the cutter, which runs against the edge of a template to reproduce its outline. The bush holder system supports it on the machine.
What it is for
Used for routing wood: profiles, rebates and joints and in woodworking, from cutting to finishing.
How to use it
Fit the bush to the base, properly seated, with the cutter passing centred through the hole. Adjust the depth taking into account the thickness of the template and run the bush against the edge of the template, with the base firmly resting. The resulting outline differs from that of the template by the distance between the edge of the bush and that of the cutter, so the template must be made to compensate for this difference.
