What it is

The DeWalt DT5057-QZ is an Extreme 2 drill bit for drilling metal, made of HSS with a diameter of 10.5 mm. It has a working length of 84 mm and a total length of 133 mm, sizes that make it suited to working precisely on steel, sheet metal and metal sections. It is supplied as a single piece in a blister pack.

What it is for

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
