Self-drilling drill bit Extreme Tri Flute 28x152mm DeWalt DT90244-QZ

What it is

The DeWalt DT90244-QZ Extreme Tri Flute self-feed bit is designed for drilling wood with a 28 mm diameter and an overall length of 152 mm, for a usable working length of 100 mm. The three-flute Tri Flute geometry optimises chip evacuation and keeps the feed smooth even on large diameters, while the hex shank ensures a firm grip in the chuck. The bit is supplied in a single pack.

A self-feed wood bit is a three-cutter bit with a centring screw that pulls itself into the wood, for large-diameter through holes.

How to use it

Fit the bit securely in the drill, place the screw point on the mark and start at low speed, letting the bit feed itself without pushing. Grip the machine firmly, preferably with the side handle, as it can twist suddenly if the bit jams. To avoid breakout, slow down when the screw point emerges and finish the hole from the opposite side.
