What it is
The D009/5-85 by Fervi is an adjustable suction-cup drilling guide: it is fixed to the surface to be drilled and acts as a guide for the diamond bit, which therefore starts centred and does not slip. Compared with the D009/5-12 in the same series, which has guide holes, this one has an opening adjustable from 5 to 85 mm, so a single guide serves bits of many diameters. It weighs 0.82 kg with its 250 x 110 x 150 mm packaging. Fervi recommends pairing it with a water mister for wet drilling.
Tile cutting and finishing equipment comprises manual tile cutters, hole saws and core bits, discs and abrasives for cutting, drilling, chamfering and polishing tiles and slabs.
What it is for
Used for drilling a range of materials, with the right bit for the substrate, for laying tiles and slabs, from spreading the adhesive to grouting and for installing wall tiling and cladding.
How to use it
On the tile cutter, align the tile against the fence, score it with a single continuous pass of the wheel and snap it with the breaker. Make holes and shaped cuts with hole saws or core bits on a drill or angle grinder, without hammer action and with cooling where specified. Finish edges and surfaces with progressively finer abrasives, wearing safety glasses and a dust mask.
