Rest the nose perpendicular to the workpiece, press until it is seated and fire; on pneumatic models, set the air pressure first. Never point it at people, disconnect the air or battery and remove the charge before clearing a jam. Wear safety glasses and, with powder-actuated models, ear protection as well.
