What it is

The replacement handle is the shaft in wood, fibreglass or resin that is fitted into the eye of a hammer, sledgehammer or club hammer head in place of one that is broken or worn.

How to use it

Choose a handle with a shape and size suited to the eye of the head and remove the old handle, clearing out any residue. Insert the new handle into the eye, seat it by tapping the end and lock it with the wedge, checking that the head is firmly secured. Before use, check that there is no play, and wear safety glasses and gloves during fitting.
