What it is
Tilting vices. Key specifications: material forged steel, type York, use 2" pipes.
A vice is a bench or machine fixture that holds the workpiece securely during machining; clamps and cramps are the portable version.
What it is for
Used for clamping workpieces, in the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and for cutting metal and plastic pipes.
How to use it
Secure the vice to the bench or machine table with suitable bolts. Clamp the workpiece in the centre of the jaws, using soft jaws on delicate surfaces, and never extend the handle with a pipe. Position clamps and cramps so that the pressure bears on the workpiece and not on its edge. Clean and lubricate the screw regularly.
