The respirator filter is the cartridge or disc that fits on the half mask or full-face mask to retain dust, gases and vapours. There are particle filters, gas and vapour filters and combined filters, recognisable by their code and colour.
What it is for
Used for respiratory protection against dust, fumes and vapours and for coating wood, metal and masonry surfaces.
How to use it
Choose the filter according to the substance present and its concentration, checking the code and class on the filter and on the safety data sheet. Click or screw it into the mask connection, check that the seal is in place and carry out the fit test. Change it when you notice odours or tastes, when breathing becomes laboured or when it has expired; opened filters are stored in a sealed bag away from damp.
