What it is

The scoring wheel is the hard-metal disc that scores the glaze along the cutting line in a manual tile cutter; it is fitted as a spare on the scoring carriage.

What it is for

Used for laying tiles and slabs, from spreading the adhesive to grouting, for cutting ceramics and porcelain stoneware and for straight and shaped cuts in tiles and porcelain stoneware.

How to use it

Choose the diameter suited to the tile cutter model and the type of tile, insert it into the carriage with its pin and check that it turns freely. Replace it when it no longer scores cleanly or leaves uneven marks; a few drops of oil on the pin improve its smoothness. Handle with care because the edge is sharp.
