A retractable fall arrester is a device with a wound-in cable or webbing that pays out as the worker moves and locks instantly in the event of a fall.

What it is for

Used for work at height, where access and restraint must be ensured for the whole job and for fall protection, as part of a fall arrest or work restraint system.

How to use it

Attach the device to a certified anchor, normally above the worker, and connect the karabiner to the dorsal or sternal attachment point of the harness. Before use, test that it locks with a sharp pull, check that the cable or webbing is undamaged and that the fall indicator has not been triggered. Keep the line away from sharp edges and have the device serviced at the intervals set by the manufacturer.
