What it is
Polyurethane sponge. Key specifications: material Polyurethane, colour Assorted.
A tiler's sponge is a block of sponge material, in various shapes and hardnesses, for wetting and cleaning grout joints and removing the haze of grout or adhesive from freshly laid tiles; it is also available in multi-piece packs.
What it is for
Used for laying tiles and slabs, from spreading the adhesive to grouting, for cleaning hard surfaces before treatment or at the end of the job and for sealing joints, gaps and service penetrations.
How to use it
Wet it in clean water and wring it out well, then pass it over the joints with light, diagonal movements, without digging out the grout. Rinse it often in the bucket and change the water when it is dirty. After the job, wash it thoroughly and replace it when it loses its shape or starts to crumble.
