Trestles

Trestles are folding or fixed supports on which to rest boards, beams, panels and workpieces on site and in the workshop. They provide a stable base at the right height for cutting, assembling and supporting materials.

Types available

• Pairs of folding trestles: in reinforced plastic and metal, such as Stanley's FatMax lines, easy to transport.
• Steel trestles: for various uses, with a rigid structure, under the Vigor and A.M.E.S. brands.
• Log sawhorses: for supporting logs and firewood to be cut.
• Multi-purpose and professional trestles: including multi-level versions.
• Machine stands: benches for table saws and stands for mitre saws, from brands such as DeWalt and Makita.

How to choose

Consider the weight to be supported and check the load capacity stated by the manufacturer, the working height and the folded size, which matters if the trestle has to be carried in a van. For cutting, stability on the ground and the supporting surface are what count; if you need to mount a machine, choose a stand compatible with its model.
