How to choose

Start from the base material (concrete, masonry, wood, sheet metal) and the load to be supported, then consider the environment: outdoors or in damp conditions you need galvanised or stainless steel materials. The dimensions of the hole and the thread also matter.

If the fixing supports heavy loads or services, it is worth asking which element suits the base material and the weight: the wrong choice of plug, bracket or anchor compromises the hold.
