Metal Stock and Wire

This collection brings together metal wires for tying, fencing and site work, together with the accessories for tensioning and fixing them.

The types available

• Galvanised heavy-gauge iron wire, in various diameters and gauges, for tying and fencing
• Annealed wire, black, white or galvanised, in coils and small coils, used for tying reinforcing bars
• Wire for stitching metal gabions
• Soft wire, for light uses such as tying plants
• Tensioners and wire strainers, also galvanised, for tensioning wires and cables

How to choose

The wire diameter and the treatment determine where it can be used: galvanising protects against corrosion outdoors, while annealed wire is soft and suited to tying by hand. For fences and high tensions, choose the stiffer wire and a tensioner suited to the load.
