What it is
Bossong metal cages (code: Metal cages) are essential perforated accessories for the correct positioning of threaded rods in chemical anchor fixing systems. Designed to ensure stability and precision, they suit hollow masonry in brick, concrete or rubble stone, optimising the distribution of the resin inside the hole.
Chemical anchor is a two-component resin in a cartridge that, injected into the drilled hole, bonds threaded rods and internally threaded sockets to the substrate; the category includes mesh sleeves and injection accessories.
What it is for
Used for anchoring shelves, brackets and structures to walls, for chemical anchoring, where the load or edge distance rules out a mechanical anchor and for structural fixings, where the fixing is load-bearing and must be calculated.
How to use it
Drill the substrate to the specified diameter and depth, clean the hole with a brush and blow-out pump, repeating several times, and insert a mesh sleeve in hollow brick. Discard the first resin until the colour is uniform, inject from the bottom of the hole and insert the rod with a twisting motion. Apply load only after the curing time stated for the substrate temperature.
