An impact driver or wrench is a cordless, corded or pneumatic tool that drives and removes screws and bolts with rotary impacts, with a hex drive for bits or a square drive for sockets.

How to use it

Fit an impact-rated bit or socket suited to the drive and select the mode or power setting. Start the screw or nut, hold the tool in line and release the trigger when the part is seated, to avoid damaging threads and heads. For tightening to a specified torque, finish with a torque wrench; pneumatic models must be supplied with filtered, lubricated air.
