What it is
The DeWalt DT30602-QZ flap disc from the Extreme line has a flat profile, a configuration suited to sanding and grinding on flat surfaces. Grit 40 makes it an aggressive abrasive, ideal for rapid material removal, deburring and surface preparation. The overlapping flap arrangement ensures gradual wear that keeps abrasive performance stable over time.
A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.
What it is for
Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.
How to use it
Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
