What it is
The DeWalt DT4592-QZ is a 140 mm extension for Forstner bits for woodworking. Its function is to increase the distance between the chuck and the bit, making it possible to reach points that are otherwise difficult to drill or to work at greater depth. It is supplied in a single pack and must be paired with compatible Forstner bits.
The extension is a rod fitted between the chuck and the bit to drill deeper than normal.

Used for drilling wood and panels.
How to use it
Insert the extension into the chuck, tighten the bit well at the end and drill at reduced speed, keeping the rod in line. Check that the fitting is compatible with the bit. A long extension can vibrate: work with light pressure and withdraw the bit often to clear the swarf.
