What it is

The DeWalt DT4923-QZ is a pack of 10 metal drill bits with a diameter of 3.5 mm in HSS-Co cobalt-alloyed high-speed steel, a material that increases their heat resistance and cutting-edge life. Each bit has a working length of 39 mm and a cylindrical tri-flat shank, which allows firm clamping in the chuck and a controlled feed during drilling.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
