What it is

The DeWalt HSS-G drill bit to DIN 338 (DT5215-QZ) is made for drilling metal and has a diameter of 5.5 mm. With a working length of 57 mm and an overall length of 93 mm, it is suited to medium-diameter holes in steel and sheet metal, with the accuracy guaranteed by the DIN 338 standard. It is supplied in a single blister pack.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
