What it is

The DeWalt DT5552-QZ is a twist drill bit for metal with a diameter of 7.5 mm, with a total length of 109 mm. It is sized for drilling metal components of medium-to-high thickness, a size suited to when a more generous hole is needed for mechanical fastenings and for passing threaded elements through.

How to use it

Mark the centre with a centre punch, clamp the workpiece and drill at a speed that is lower the larger the diameter and the harder the material. Maintain steady pressure, lubricate with cutting oil on steel and stainless steel and, for large diameters, drill a pilot hole first. Withdraw the bit frequently to clear the swarf, and never touch the swarf with bare hands.
