What it is
The 11-piece bi-metal hole saw set DeWalt DT83003-QZ is an assortment of bi-metal hole saws designed for cutting a range of different materials (multi-material). The bi-metal construction of the cutters combines a tough body with a wear-resistant tooth edge, giving efficient cutting and clean edges across a range of diameters gathered in a single pack.
Hole saws and annular cutters are cylindrical cutting tools, toothed or carbide-tipped, for large holes with a drill or, with a Weldon shank, a magnetic drill.
What it is for
Used for drilling wood and panels, for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and for running services through walls, floors and suspended ceilings.
How to use it
Fit the tool to the arbor or directly in the Weldon chuck, with a pilot drill or ejector pin. Secure the workpiece or the drill base firmly, set a speed suited to the diameter and material, and drill with a steady feed, lubricating on metal. When the hole is complete, eject the slug and check the sharpness of the cutting edges.
