Standards and compliance

Roof windows, skylights and domes are governed by standard EN 14351-1 (Windows and doors – Product standard, performance characteristics), which regulates air permeability, watertightness, wind load resistance and the thermal transmittance of the frame. Insulating glazing is certified to EN 1279, with assessment of the glass U-value for applications in low-energy buildings (Passive House, NZEB). CE marking is mandatory for the marketing in the EU of windows intended for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, with a declaration of performance (DoP) issued by the manufacturer. EN 1991-1-3 and EN 1991-1-4 apply to the assessment of snow and wind loads.
