Surface conditioning flap discs Fervi SCD115/C

What it is

Fervi SCD115/C surface conditioning flap discs, with a Ø 115 mm diameter, combine the flexibility of the flap configuration with the non-woven material typical of surface conditioning abrasives. This combination allows surfaces to be worked aggressively but in a controlled way: the C (coarse) version is the most incisive in the range and removes oxidation, rust, weld beads and old finishes without cutting excessively into the base metal. The Ø 115 mm size fits common angle grinders.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
