Surface conditioning flap discs Fervi SCD115/VF

What it is

Fervi SCD115/VF surface conditioning flap discs, with a Ø 115 mm diameter, combine the flap configuration with surface conditioning non-woven material in the VF (very fine) grade, the gentlest in the series. They are designed for fine finishing and even satin finishing of metal surfaces, where the appearance needs improving without affecting the material. The flap structure ensures soft, flexible contact, suitable even for shaped surfaces, and the Ø 115 mm size fits common angle grinders.

A flap disc is an abrasive made of overlapping cloth flaps, on a disc for angle grinders or on a shank for straight grinders, that roughs down and finishes metal and wood.

What it is for

Used for sanding metal, from roughing to finishing, for deburring metal after cutting and drilling and for grinding and cleaning up weld seams and burrs.

How to use it

Fit the disc on the angle grinder, or insert the shank-mounted flap wheel in the collet of the straight grinder or drill, observing the maximum speed. Work with light pressure at a slight angle, keeping the tool moving so as not to overheat or mark the workpiece. Progress from coarse to fine grits for finishing, and replace the disc when the cloth is worn down to the backing.
