What it is
The Fervi M062 is a digital thickness gauge: the material is slipped between the measuring surfaces and the display shows the thickness. It measures from 0 to 12 mm (0-0.5") with a reading of 0.01 mm and a stated accuracy of ±0.1 mm, and reaches 20 mm deep from the edge of the workpiece. It runs on one LR44 battery and weighs 70 g with packaging.
Distance measuring tools include tape measures, long surveyor's tapes, measuring wheels, calipers, feeler gauges and ranging poles for measuring lengths, thicknesses and distances on site and in the workshop.
What it is for
Used in quality control of parts and workmanship and for measuring on site and in the workshop.
How to use it
Choose the tool according to the measurement: tape measure or long tape for lengths, measuring wheel for long distances, caliper, micrometer or feeler gauge for thicknesses and diameters. Place the zero exactly on the starting point, keep the tape taut and straight and read perpendicular to the scale. Clean and dry the instrument after use and protect calipers and micrometers from knocks.
