What it is

With a diameter of Ø 5.00 mm, the Fervi P065/05.00 cobalt twist drill bit is a professional drilling tool for high-hardness metals. The cobalt alloy ensures a hardness of HV 800-900, which translates into greater wear resistance, while the 135° point grind ensures stable starting and regular penetration, ideal for precise, well-centred holes.

A metal drill bit is an HSS or cobalt twist drill, with a straight or taper shank, for drilling steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

What it is for

Used for drilling steel, stainless steel and aluminium, on a pillar drill or with a hand-held drill and in workshop machining of steel, aluminium and alloy parts.

How to use it

Clamp the workpiece in a vice, mark the centre and set the speed for the diameter and material: low for hard steels and large diameters, higher for aluminium and plastic. Lubricate with cutting oil on steel; on plastic, reduce the pressure as the bit breaks through to avoid chipping. Insert taper-shank drills into the pillar drill's spindle taper and remove them with a drift.
