A trapezoidal spirit level is a bubble level with a rigid, easy-to-handle trapezoidal aluminium profile and one or two milled measuring faces.

What it is for

Used for levelling surfaces and structures and for setting out and for measuring on site and in the workshop.

How to use it

Place the milled face on the clean surface and read the horizontal or vertical vial, with the bubble centred between the lines. Periodically check the calibration by turning the level through 180 degrees on the same spot: the reading must remain the same. Magnetic versions cling to steel beams and pipes, leaving your hands free.
